Welcome to the workshop – Implement and monitor care for a person with mental health conditions.

This workshop describes the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the nursing care and management of a person with a mental health condition.

This workshop applies to enrolled nursing work carried out in consultation and collaboration with registered nurses, and under supervisory arrangements aligned to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia regulatory authority legislative requirements.

Workshop outcomes:

  • Identify and address State/Territory mental health legislation requirements
  • Respond appropriately to signs of mental illness
  • Contribute to care planning and conduct initial clinical observations for a person with a mental health condition
  • Contribute to the recovery of a person with a mental health condition
