Welcome to the workshop – Implement and Monitor Care for a Person with Diabetes

This workshop describes the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor care for a person with diabetes, including supporting daily care needs, monitoring changes in health and wellbeing, and responding appropriately in line with individual care plans and workplace procedures.

This workshop applies to individuals working in health, community, disability, and care support settings where they provide care to people living with diabetes.

Workshop outcomes:

  • Identify diabetes care services in the Australian health care environment
  • Assess the needs of a person with diabetes
  • Perform complex nursing interventions to assist a person to achieve and maintain optimal diabetes health
  • Evaluate the care plan for a person with diabetes, and support a person’s self-management
