Welcome to the workshop – Administer and Monitor Medicines and Intravenous Therapy
This workshop describes the skills and knowledge required to administer and monitor medicines and intravenous therapy, including preparing and administering medications, observing client responses, maintaining accurate documentation, and following relevant clinical, legal, and workplace procedures.
This workshop applies to individuals working in health and clinical care settings where medication administration and intravenous therapy are performed within scope of practice.
Workshop outcomes:
- Minimise potential risk to ensure safe administration of medications
- Prepare for medication administration and infusion of IV fluids
- Administer and store medication
- Monitor and evaluate a person’s response to administered medication, IV fluids and blood and blood products
- Assess effectiveness of pain-relieving therapy
